About two years ago I was blessed to travel to Israel with my wife to explore the Holy Land, walk in the footsteps of Jesus, and experience in every detail the places I’ve read about and studied most of my life. It was one of the greatest blessings of my life.
One of the things I was most grateful for during that trip was a friendship that was formed with our guide, Yo’el. As someone who lives in the land of Israel, is a follower of Jesus of Nazareth, and is a devoted student of the scriptures, Yo’el’s friendship has been a tremendous gift.
As I’ve continued to have different conversations with different people in different places about Jesus’ teaching when He said, “Blessed are the Peacemakers,” I wanted to talk with Yo’el to gain his perspective and insight. I pray this conversation will help you as well.
God blesses those who work for peace,
for they will be called the children of God. – Matthew 5.9, NLT
“Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called sons of God. – Matthew 5.9, ESV
This conversation was recorded for the Riverside Church in July 2020 and can be viewed on the Riverside YouTube Channel.
