Be a Letter of Hope from Christ

People around us are determining what they think about Christianity based on how we live it out. You may be the only church some people will ever visit. And their experience with you will determine if they will ever set foot in the building!  So the question becomes – how can we love others the way God has loved us? How can we show those around us that we are for them?  Paul says to the troubled church in Corinth, to this group of people who have had their high points & low points, that they are his “letter of recommendation.” They are a beautiful expression of the Spirit of God in their city.  Everything anyone needs to know about him they can learn from watching how they live out the gospel.  Those are powerful words about the kind of people this church was supposed to be.  And it’s an encouragement for us as well.

2 Corinthians 3.2-3
“The only letter of recommendation we need is you yourselves. Your lives are a letter written in our hearts; everyone can read it and recognize our good work among you. Clearly, you are a letter from Christ showing the result of our ministry among you. This “letter” is written not with pen and ink, but with the Spirit of the living God. It is carved not on tablets of stone, but on human hearts.”
