Love Ran Red: More Great Songs for the Church

This past Sunday Night Chris Tomlin released his latest album: “Love Ran Red.”

Those who know me well know that I’m a huge Tomlin fan.  His music has had a tremendous impact on my life & ministry.  I have had the chance to meet him once or twice & I’ll always be grateful for that.  So don’t be surprised when I say that I love this CD as well.  Truthfully, he could sing the phone book & I would write a favorable review.  Just being honest!

On a more serious note, here’s what I love about his music, & specifically this CD as I’ve lived with it for the past 36 hours or so.

  • Once again it’s filled with scripture.  I love that Tomlin’s music is anchored in scripture. He brings the Word to life through his ability to craft melody & harmony.
  • These songs are centered squarely on Jesus.  You can’t sing these songs without singing the name of Jesus.  Without encountering the cross & worshiping there at your Savior’s feet.
  • These songs are easy for the church to sing.  In my opinion Chris may be the closet thing we have to a modern day David, writing great songs for the church.  As soon as you hear it you can sing along & it quickly feels like a song you’ve known all your life.  What a gift.

If you  haven’t had a chance, give it a listen.  Maybe you & I will have a chance to sing some of these songs together soon.  I’d love that.  You can get it here: http://bit.ly/1wHu4CB
